The 39-year-old actress was pregnant with Ori, her fourth daughter, from her marriage to Jaron Varsano, when she discovered she had a “huge blood clot” at eight months of pregnancy.
She said that at the time, she was experiencing “excruciating headaches that confined me to bed, until I finally had an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth.”
“At one point, my family and I realized how fragile life can be. It was a stark reminder of how quickly everything can change, and in the middle of a difficult year, all I wanted was to hold and live,” she wrote on Instagram last Sunday (29).
“We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that time of uncertainty and fear,” the actress also said, before explaining that her daughter’s name means “my light.”
Gadot announced Ori’s birth in March of this year. Gadot and Varsano are also parents of Alma, born in 2011, Maya, born in 2017, and Daniella, born in 2021. The couple has been married since 2008.
